Church Choir

The Church Choir was founded in 1962 under the leadership of Mr A. B. A. Danso, the head teacher of Bantama Presbyterian Primary School and first choirmaster, who was assisted by Mr I. O. Owusu (Secretary) and Mr L. M. Owusu (Treasurer/Porter).

The choir's first anniversary was celebrated on Sunday, 30th June 1963, with thirty-five members; by its fortieth anniversary membership had grown to forty-two, and today stands at around eighty.

Over the years the choir has been led by several choirmasters, including Mr A. B. A. Danso, Mr Alex Sakyi Ntow, Mr Sam Prempeh, and Mr Joseph Akoto Agyekum, with valuable support from patrons and patronesses of the church.

The choir has represented the Ashanti Region and Bantama District at National Arts and Culture competitions, including a record win at the Ambassador Recording Studio competition in Kumasi, and continues to lead the congregation in worship through song at local, district, presbytery, and national programmes.

The choir's vision is to open a formidable Youth Choir in the church.
